Hello!
I'm Parul Sharma
A UX and Experience Designer, currently working at Oracle and part of a Financial Service Global Business Unit (FSGBU).
Before Oracle, I worked at Deloitte as a Visual Designer. My goal is to create products and experiences that are not only usable and useful for their users, but that are also delightful and enjoyable to use. I am passionate about technology that does good in the world: tech for social justice, education, positive change, and experiences that just make people happy.
I’ve had a very winding path to get where I am now. As a kid, I was always fascinated by comics, anime, and video games. I spent hours sketching and illustrating, and I knew I wanted to make a career out of it. So, I decided to study animation. However, I struggled with the time-consuming and precise nature of animating characters, and my storyboarding skills were not up to par.

Despite the challenges, I didn't give up. Instead, I switched gears and studied applied arts. In this program, I learned about graphic design and how to use design elements to solve communication problems.

I started my career as a junior graphic designer at an ad agency. However, I soon realized that creating graphics for short-lived marketing campaigns wasn't fulfilling for me. I wanted to create something that had a lasting impact on the people I was designing for.

After much consideration, I made the switch to experience design. I joined a service-based company as a visual designer, where I had the opportunity to work closely with the UX team, project managers, and engineers. I learned about the design process and the importance of creating user-centered experiences.

With hard work, online courses, and constant practice, I was able to build up my portfolio and land a job as a UI Designer at one of the big four tech companies. And now, I'm a senior UX Designer at Oracle, and it's a pretty sweet gig.

Although I've achieved a lot, my journey isn't over yet. I'm constantly learning and growing as a designer. And one day I hope to make this world a better place
